Software Developer
The Software Developer is to assist our clients Senior Developer, on-site Consultants, and Account Executives with various software development projects. In addition, there will be a number of client interactions especially with those who “do not understand computers” and will require some assistance with identifying what they are trying to achieve.
It is expected that in the beginning the role will focus on relatively simple projects of perhaps a few hours to a few days duration. As confidence is gained, this will start to include larger multi-week projects.
1. Programming
a. C# (C-Sharp)
i. Experience designing and developing interactive applications
b. VB
i. Experience developing simple VB in a variety of applications
c. Microsoft .Net experience
i. Experience using XML within a development environment
d. Active X Controls
i. Useful to have used Active X controls to interface with applications including Microsoft Excel
2. Development Environment
a. Microsoft SQL
i. Experience with SQL administration, tuning, stored procedures, triggers, maintenance plans, general setup and use
b. Visual Studio
i. Experience using Visual Studio 2005 or later
ii. Visual Studio ASD for web development nice to have
c. Windows operating systems and components
i. Experience with Microsoft server operating systems including Server 2003 and Server 2008
ii. Nice to have experience with Exchange Server setup, usage and access from within applications
d. Network
i. A good understanding of network infrastructure and components
3. Crystal Reports (Crystal XI)
a. Experience designing and creating reports
b. Experience with sub-report usage
1. Experience with business processes and related concepts
a. Inventory, purchasing, job costing, accounting
b. Understanding of business software environment (ERP)
