Position: President and General Manager

Reports to: Owner

Location: Digby, Nova Scotia

Our client is a successful multi-generational, multi-million dollar, established family-owned Seafood wholesaler.  The company has strong long-term relationships with suppliers and international exporters of its products (Live Lobster and Seafood).

We are currently recruiting for the position of President and General Manager.  This position offers the opportunity for a highly motivated, entrepreneurial minded and strategic business thinker to oversee the development of this organization.  Ideal candidates will possess a background in the fisheries industry including sales, service, strategy generation, and financial management.

As a proven manager, you are capable of structuring and maintaining a productive team.  In this role you will be responsible for managing finances, managing client accounts, and exploring new ways to grow the business.

Responsibilities (not limited to):

·         Execute strategic plans to ensure the sustainable growth of the company

·         Manage finances, client accounts and implement procedures to ensure financial security

·         Maintain a community presence to better understand the audience and serve our customers

·         Drive daily management and smoothly implement established processes

·         Develop staff to build competencies and ultimately achieve company goals and objectives

Qualifications:

• Strong Salesmanship - minimum 3-5 years sales experience including a positive track record obtaining results
• Strong leadership abilities
• Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, Email)
• Minimum 3-5 years of management experience
• Demonstrated proficiency reading, using financial statements, financial documentation
• Must demonstrate ability to energize, empower and engage team to get results
• Post Secondary Education in Business is an asset
• Ability to deal with conflict and adversity
• Ability to travel
