Our contract team in New Brunswick is growing again. As a result of this we are currently looking for a Desktop Architect. Our client is serving about 1500 desktops and has the following responsibilities
· SCCM2007 Administration and support
· McAfee EPO Administration and support
· MS Active Directory group policy creation and support
· Desktop disaster recovery "imaging" including: Microsoft Deployment Toolkit, WDS, PXE lite touch deployments
· Application virtualization administration and support - Microsoft App-V 4.5

· Supervision of first and second level technical support staff with direct supervision of all second level technical support staff including helpdesk supervisor.
o This is accomplished through developing work plans, scheduling and delegation of employee duties, providing leadership and coaching, supporting training and career development opportunities, managing employee performance, facilitating weekly staff meetings and establishing priorities as deemed necessary.
· Facilitate meetings with third party contract teams keeping them up to date on all new desktop environment developments including any changes regarding future desktop environment roadmap.
· Recruitment of new staff as required.
· Project Management
o Examples include: Client wide desktop O/S deployment, desktop disaster recovery design, and overall desktop security implementation |

· Development of strategic desktop design and overall management of a desktop environment. Establishment of standards, policies and guidelines. Investigate, evaluate and recommend new desktop related technology platform choices and utilities, and insuring the recommended platform choices have a development life cycle. Development of future roadmaps and direction the client will take with respect to the desktop environment. Collaborate with other senior IT, business, and third party teams in developing overall IT infrastructure as a whole. Address the various business and technology needs, and ensure consistency and standards across the desktop environment.
· Provide functional direction and leadership to other IT staff members in analyzing and resolving technical and operational issues. Coordinating the use of other resources for solving IT related issues including third party vendors as well as internal technical staff.
· Keeping IT technical support staff up to date regarding new solutions, procedures or techniques. Ensure helpdesk and desktop teams receive and maintain a current understanding of both in-place and emerging technologies. |

· Represent the client at a variety of federal/provincial/territorial meetings |
